The new inner portico entrance for the ‘Remember Me’ memorial at St. Pauls Cathedral.
Project Description
The new inner portico entrance for the ‘Remember Me’ memorial at St. Pauls Cathedral.
The Challenge
Because of the importance of this project, it was imperative that the English Oak could be traced back to the location that the trees grew, as well as being specifically selected from our Highest quality Kiln-dried stock to ensure minimal movement once installed inside the cathedral.
The Results
Since the North Transept of the cathedral was bombed during the Second World War, the original portico had never been rebuilt. In 2022, working with Sir Robert McAlpine, Caroe Architecture, Connolly Wellingham Architects, and N B Joinery, we carefully selected our highest quality joinery grade oak to help create this incredible masterpiece serving as a remembrance to those lost during the covid pandemic and also an equal access entrance to one of London's most iconic Historical buildings.
