English Green Oak - Spreakley House

Spreakley House

Project Description

The total refurbishment of a 16th Century Tudor House in Surrey to a very high standard from ancient timber frame repairs to new areas built with both fully seasoned and fresh sawn English Green Oak. To retain the full character of the property, ‘Foot Worn’ flooring, furniture and joinery were all crafted from English Green Oak to provide the level of finish required in this exclusive project.

The Challenge

The standards set for this project were very high and required careful selection of various timbers including long, large sections of structural Oak through to appropriate curved braces, turned columns, shapes tie beams and sap free Oak cladding. All timbers were of course fully traceable back to the woodland where they grew to give the clients reassurance that their investment was secure in the repairs and improvements being made to this 16th century heritage listed building.

The Results

A truly outstanding renovation and development of an ancient house to bring it sympathetically up to date to provide an extremely high quality home which will continue as part of our heritage for many centuries to come.
