Project Description
A small riverside cottage in need of major conservation/restoration was bought. Further new build accommodation was required but with a rather more contemporary feel…
The Challenge
Cladding was specified for certain parts of the new build area, but with a sawn finish and a bold mullion type cover strip between each vertical board.
The Results
Having used a lot of seasoned and green restoration oak in the repair of the old part of the house, seasoned English oak cladding was specified due to the width of the vertical boards. These boards together with a fairly large section sawn tapered cover strip produces a very eye-catching contemporary but sympathetic overall view to a classing listed building.
